at reasonable rates). Even the most hair-raising languages such
as Asian and Middle Eastern become easy to handle. @International

as they localize for the first time, making the subtitling process
a smooth and pleasant experience.
EDIT
LISTS
DVD subtitling is a combination of graphic files and edit lists.
An edit list is a text files that clearly notes the exact "in
point" for each DVD subtitle and the "out point"
for each DVD subtitle. Excellent edit lists for DVD subtitling are
exact to the "frame", and are perfectly timed. With today's
software - from Sonic to DVD Studio Pro to Adobe Encore and Video
Studio - the edit lists can now contain not only the "in points"
and "out points" of each subtitle, but also the text itself
that should appear on screen. Furthermore, that same edit list can
have a special mark in the subtitle text that indicates where the
subtitle should wrap around to the 2nd line.
So, the changes in DVD software now make it possible for most DVD
subtitling authors to receive a single text file and slickly run
this text edit list through their system to create beautiful DVD
subtitles in almost any language. But subtitles can still be provided
as graphic files in most formats, though not all.
