ASIAN EXPERIENCE:
The first Asian experience is often anticipated with trepidation by developers. Then, after the first few hours into the project, working with Asian languages becomes manageable, and developers are relieved that working with 2-byte languages such as Chinese, Japanese and Korean is not as hard as appeared at first glance. In fact, working with Asian languages becomes as easy as A-B-C.

ASIAN COMPATIBILITY:

Computers are becoming more and more Asian-friendly with each new system release. Thus, more and more developers can learn to manipulate Asian text as HTML, XML and artwork. @International Serivces is also pleased to drop HTML text directly into a web page, and even create jpg/gif files for the site using the English originals as base. For XML dynamic databases, client will be fully supported in establishing 2-byte compatibility.

ASIAN OPERATING SYSTEMS:
Asian computers have a variety of operating systems. There are 5 different Chinese operating systems, many of which are incompatible. Japanese also uses different operating systems, as does Arabic and other languages. HTML content as text (not artwork) will appear as garbage on a system not properly configured. But the page full of squiggles and question marks miraculously turns into beautiful Chinese, Japanese or Korean with the right settings and installations.

ASIAN AND MIDDLE EASTERN TEXT:

JPG, GIF, PICT, TGA , EPS, BMP pre-fab files are provided for artwork text, ready to import into the project. Pre-fabs are generally for Asian languages (Chinese, Japanese), Middle Eastern (Arabic), script-like languages (Hindi, Thai), or other non-ABC languages (Russian, Hebrew). Alternatively, The HTML text can be placed directly into the pageby the translator, ready for site visitors equipped with Asian or Middle Eastern systems, then return the HTML to the developer ready-to-use. Foreign translated text files must often be converted from various overseas formats with differing keyboard mapping and operating systems. Foreign languages can be placed on the web:

  • As text readable only by machines that are properly configured and prepared for such text, or

  • As GIF or JPG files, readable on any machine, anywhere in the world.
